The next generation of everything at Infosecurity

Last week saw another edition of Europe’s largest cybersecurity event Infosecurity Europe, which Ackcent once again attended with a group of clients, together with some 20.000 professionals working in the sector.

We took advantage of the opportunity to call in at a number of different stands representing the diverse providers and companies that have a presence in Infosecurity, as well as taking part in meetings with our strategic partners and talking with them about the latest solutions and developments in cybersecurity, including the ones highlighted below:

Mosher Lerner, SVP Product Strategy Manager at Checkmarx, a leading SAST solution for S-SDLC code revision and implementation, presented new Software Composition Analysis (SCA) functions for identifying, evaluating and remedying the code security vulnerabilities of the open software used by developers.

During the event, we also met with CISCO, for whom Xavier Garcia, Cloud Security Sales Leader- EMEA, gave us a deeper insight into CISCO Umbrella, the first Secure Internet Gateway on the market that provides a smart cloud-based proxy as a first-line defense and inspection device.

We also had the chance to talk to John McClurg VP & Ambassador at Cylance, and a respected veteran in the cybersecurity industry following his career in the FBI during which he took part in missions against cyberterrorism, cybercrime and cyberespionage, as well as being the CISO for companies such as Dell, Honeywell and Lucent. He remembers that before he discovered Cylance it was like Groundhog Day, one of his favourite films.

Finally, we took part in a private meeting with Greg Day, CISO EMEA at Palo Alto Networks, who gave us his point of view on the unstoppable evolution of information systems and cloud-based applications, and their corresponding security priorities, as well as the state of the art of the increasing use of Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the automatization of processes and decision making.

Once again, we have taken full advantage of this opportunity to gain first-hand experience of the new solutions and trends in the sector, including the startups who are introducing disruptive technology. We would like to thank our partners and clients for accompanying us on our visit and we hope to repeat the experience at next year’s edition of Infosecurity Europe 2020.
